New forms of refractories, types of KPF-95 and MKFU-85, which possess increased mechanical srength, refractoriness, and slag resistance, were selected and tested for lining of mixers. The wear of these refractories is 0.36 mm per cast in comparison with 0.9-1.0 mm for types ShN-38 and ShPD-39 refractories. With the high cost of corundum and mullite-corundum refractories the costs for lining are 0.66-1.04 rubles per ton of iron while the costs with the use of ShN-38 and ShPD-39 refractories are 0.086 rubles per ton of iron with the same lives. The use of a differentiated plan of a lining made it possible to decrease the costs to a significant degree and to increase the life of mixers with two or three intermediate repairs. A record life of 1,030 casts was obtained. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
