Abstrakt: Using a concentration galvanic element, the nature of the conductivity of MgO and A1O used as a solid electrolyte at temperatures typical for producing steel, was determined. At these temperatures MgO possesses practically pure ionic conductivity. A1O is a mixed conductor, its proportion of electron conductivity is about 25%, and this diminishes with rise in temperature.
