The article focuses on the importance of school building maintenance aside from upgrading educational programs and technology since students do not learn as well in buildings that are run down, unsafe and have an unhealthy indoor environment. A long-range facility maintenance plan is required which is a collaboration among stakeholders, facilities experts, school personnel and community members. Custodians and maintenance workers are integral parts to extend the life of school buildings. |
