Presents a study which examined the hypothesis that tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) directly impairs endothelium-dependent relaxation and enhances the contraction in systemic vessels of pregnant rats. Measurement of mean arterial pressure; Effects of endothelium removal on phenylalanine-induced contraction in aortic strips of virgin and pregnant rats; Mechanisms involved in the TNF-α-induced enhancement of vascular contraction. |
