The article presents an analysis of how inter-set rest intervals affects the amount of resistance in generating a greater training volume and eliciting high endogenous anabolic hormone responses. Ranging from 30 seconds to several minutes, inter-set rest interval is the allotted time between consecutive exercise sets. Based on some studies, multiple sets are superior than single sets and longer inter-rest intervals lead to maximum strength development. The study revealed no significant strength effect of elevated testosterone and growth hormone. |
