Abstrakt: Discusses a study that employed a method of intracellular dialysis to vary the concentration of magnesium (Mg²+;) inside of guinea pig ventricular myocytes. Common properties of mammalian and amphibian cardiomyocytes; Concentration-dependent blocking effects of intracellular Mg²+; on L-type calcium (Ca²+;) channels in cardiac myocytes; Temporal phases where the increase of L-type Ca²+; channel occurred.
