| Abstrakt: | A literary criticism is offered analyzing the expression of "techno-primitivism" within Modernist literature. The author focuses on D. H. Lawrence's novel "Lady Chatterley's Lover," as a case text wherein the subject and concept of rubber is engaged. The simultaneous interpretation of rubber as a modern plastic as well as an older, more traditional material is analyzed. Extensions are also proposed reflecting on the larger metaphorical movement of Modernity regarding synthetic material culture. |
