Abstrakt: Boehm's (1971) classification of test items on the Boehm Test of Basic Concepts (BTBC) into the four context categories of space, quantity, time, and miscellaneous was examined from a factor analytic perspective. Examination of a variety of factor solutions of the BTBC provided no support for any of these four categories. A single, general factor related to the acquisition of basic verbal concepts best described the instrument. This factor was constant across the two forms of the BTBC. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
