This paper gives results from a waste study performed for future fusion power station designs. The study has been carried out within the European Program on the Safety and Environmental Assessment of fusion power, Long-term (SEAL). Five different blanket designs were compared from the standpoint of waste. Results are given for comparisons regarding primary waste quantities, radiological hazards, chemical hazards, repository volumes required, and doses from repositories. The repository volumes required were compared for a hypothetical German scenario and the doses from repositories were compared for hypothetical French and Swedish scenarios. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
