| Abstrakt: |
The article presents a discussion on the Waipounamu erosion surface which is believed to cover the subcontinent of New Zealand. The discussion is based on the analysis of sedimentological, geomorphological and paleontological record. Also presented is the palynological data for the Oligocene and early Miocene in New Zealand. In conclusion, the uncertainty of floral record does not affirm the total submergence of the subcontinent. |
