| Abstrakt: | The article presents a paper which describes various formations of mechanisms in nonferrous metals that are likely to create fines during wire drawing. Discussion of five different wear mechanisms is provided, including abrasion, third body abrasive wear and adhesion. Fines-Potential Test method has been developed to gather and measure fines from the surface of copper rod or wire. The results indicate a direct relationship between the weight of fines and the surface oxide thickness. |
