The article describes the construction of a scale model of the World War II German midget submarine Hecht. The details of the construction process including photographs of the castings, painting and the other parts of the Hecht are provided. Since minisubmarines such as the Hecht spent most their time out of water, the painting of the model was made to show the rust and depict weathering of the actual midget submarine. |
