Abstrakt: The article discusses the treatment options for multiple myeloma (MM) in elderly patients aged 65 and older. Conventional treatments such as melphalan and prednisone, and high-dose dexamethasone are discussed. Results of clinical trials for new treatments such as autologous stem cell transplantation, and regimens using novel agents such as thalidomide, bortezomib, and lenalidomide are analyzed. The rates of progression-free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS), and effects on the quality of life (QoL) of the treatments are also discussed.
