Abstrakt: The article investigates the herbicidal mode of action of flamprop-M-methyl. Bioassays were said to reveal a mode of action similar to that of mitotic disrupter herbicides. Also, combining monoclonal antibodies with polymerized tubulin in maize roots was found to have disturbed the orientation of spindle and phragmoblast microtubules, while the cortical microtubules were only slightly affected. Moreover, soybean tubulin polymerization was not affected by flamprop-M-methyl. It is concluded that flamprop-M-methylcan, a mitotic disrupter herbicide, can affect the orientation of spindle and phragmoblast microtubules
