The article presents the principal statistical series collected and calculated by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. It mentions that certain monthly and quarterly data found in "Review" are adjusted to eliminate the effect on the data of such factors as climatic conditions, industry production schedules, and holiday buying periods. The labor market indicators include employment measures from two major surveys and information on rates of change in compensation provided by the Employment Cost Index (ECI) program. |
