A discussion of the history of the Spanish Comparative Education Society (Sociedad Española de Educación Comparada - SEEC) allows one to discover unexplored dimensions which had not previously received sufficient focus, while helping to trace the trajectory of a community of persons and institutions who had contributed to the society in a decisive way. In our case, this challenge is augmented by the fact that the authors have been Secretary and President of the society. Luis Naya has been a member since 1995, and Ferran Ferrer since 1982. The work for this chapter brought reflection on events that they had experienced without then occupying positions of responsibility and, as a consequence, without all the first-hand data necessary to have a meaningful understanding of the evolution of the society. Now, with a grasp of the contextual elements and with the distance given by the passage of time, the analysis of the evolution of the SEEC becomes more complex and is thus enriched.
