The article discusses a competition sponsored by General Motors Corp. and the U.S. Department of Energy. Each of seventeen teams of university students was given a Chevrolet SUV to refurbish in an effort to increase fuel efficiency while reducing tailpipe emissions. The winning entry from students at Mississippi State University achieved a 38% increase in mileage. |
