Abstrakt: The article presents a study to determine the effects of atrazine (ATR) treatment on aromatase activity in human granulosa-lutein cell cultures from estrogen sensitive target tissues in the ovary and endometrium. In this study, aromatase activity was measured using the tritiated water method, while the specificity of the assay was shown by co-incubation with 4-hydroxyandrostenedione. It was found that aromatase activity in ATR treated cells was increased more than twice compared with control cultures. Moreover, it indicated no treatment related changes in cellular protein and was determined that the ATR-induced change in aromatase activity was not caused by an increased in cell number.
