Abstrakt: The article presents the medical case of an infant with an extracranial protuberance. The infant was initially presented with only a small lump on the head. The tumor was understood to be benign. However, the histology showed a very malignant tumor with multiple metastases. The most common cause of an extracranial tumor in infants is cephalic haematoma, whereas in older children dermoid cysts are most frequently found. Both of them are benign lesions. Malignant extracranial tumors in children may be osteosarcoma, small round cell tumors, but also extracranial localization of a primary brain tumor.
