Abstrakt: | The article discusses the use of nanotechnology in the treatment and purification of water. The business of cleaning contaminated water is forecast to increase 6 percent per year through 2009, and nanotechnology companies are attempting to capitalize. The article discusses Thiol-SAMMS, a powder containing nanoparticles that are used to absorb mercury, lead, arsenic, and other metals. Other products include ceramic filters lined with nanocrystals and nanoparticles that use magnetism. |
