Abstrakt:	The article focuses on the ruling of the U.S. Supreme Court that questions the automatic nature of permanent injunctions in the eBay versus MercExchange patent suit. Permanent injunctions refrain the infringer from engaging in conduct that would violate the patent. The court argues that the four-point test used in providing permanent injunctions should be applied to patent suits. Patent owners who do not practice the inventions commercially will have difficulty in requesting for permanent injunctions.
