Abstrakt: The article discusses a study on the psychological effects of violence on forensic nurses who experienced a traumatic event in their work. Forensic nurses frequently work in violent settings that expose them to the victims and perpetrators of violence events. They are most disturbed with cases involving children and victims with disfiguring injuries. Forensic nurses must learn to self-assess and recognize the symptoms of unhealthy coping, depression or posttraumatic stress disorder.
