The article discusses the study of the re-emergence of gram-negative organisms as cause of primary health care-associated blood-stream infections (PHA-BSI). Almost 350,000 patients were affected of the PHA-BSI. These infections were identified in adult patients in quaternary hospital and evaluated in the microbial etiology, geographic distribution and antimicrobial susceptibilities. Around 3,662 PHA-BSI cases caused by 4,349 bacterial and fungal isolates were identified. |
