The article looks at the treatment of erectile dysfunction after the oral drug phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors have failed. The response of patients who do not initially respond to PDE5 inhibitors may improve by educating patients about the right use of the drug, taking daily doses of the drug, improving comorbid conditions, and treating hypogonadal men with testosterone. Alternative treatments include psychosexual therapy, vacuum constriction devices, and penile prostheses. |
