Abstrakt: This article 1 presents an analytical study of the components of the palace of Fahd ibn Suʿūd, brother of Imam ʿAbd Allāh ibn Suʿūd, one of the last defenders of al-Diriyah. It is an important palace and dates to the final stage of the First Saudi State. By means of analysis of the surviving architectural components of the palace, the article seeks to identify evidence for its lost architectural and structural elements. This will assist in identifying the original form of the palace and its architectural spatial composition at the time of its construction, as well as the stages of development of its subsequent architectural accretions, before any restoration or rehabilitation work is begun, and which should govern the process of its architectural preservation.
