A study conducted at the University of Arkansas examined the impact of hearing loss on individuals' experiences with social dining. Participants with hearing loss showed lower acceptance for certain foods and reported less engagement during social dining compared to those with normal hearing. The research concluded that hearing loss affects individuals' perception and acceptance of food, as well as their engagement in dining experiences.
