The article discusses the concept of intuition in the philosophies of Henri Bergson and its intersection with Buddhist philosophy. Bergson's idea of intuition as a way to access reality beyond language and concepts is compared to Buddhist practices of meditation to cultivate intuition. The article explores how both traditions emphasize the importance of intuition in understanding metaphysics, ethics, and politics. Additionally, the role of exemplarity in moral cultivation is highlighted as a way to embody intuitive understanding. The article suggests that practices like meditation and reflection on exemplars can help develop intuition and guide ethical and political decision-making. [Extracted from the article] |
