University of Karbala researchers conducted a study comparing brain activity in patients with Parkinson's disease dementia (PDD) and Dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) using EEG analysis. The study found differences in EEG power spectrum and nonlinear dynamics between the two conditions, with DLB patients showing marked diffuse slowing and lower cortical complexity compared to PDD patients. This research aims to provide insights into biomarkers for accurate diagnosis and treatment monitoring for these forms of dementia. [Extracted from the article] |
