Abstrakt: The article discusses a novel therapeutic strategy for managing refractory pure red cell aplasia (PRCA) in patients post hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. The strategy involves neutralizing recipient isohemagglutinin with donor-type red blood cell transfusions, resulting in sustained erythropoiesis. The case study presented in the article demonstrates the effectiveness of this method in achieving transfusion independence and improving hemoglobin levels in a patient with refractory PRCA. The treatment is described as safe, well-tolerated, and cost-effective, offering a promising approach for addressing this challenging clinical scenario. [Extracted from the article]
