Effects of controlling coaching behaviors on mental toughness and doping intentions in Korean college athletes.

Abstrakt: The present study examined the effects of controlling coaching behaviors on Korean college athletes' mental toughness and their intentions to engage in doping in sport setting. By analyzing data from a diverse sample of competitive 289 college-athletes and asked to complete the questionnaire in assess the Korean version of controlling coaching behaviors, mental toughness and doping intention by perception of athletes. The results showed that the controlling coaching behaviors negatively predicted athlete mental toughness. Whereas the controlling coaching behaviors positively predicted athlete doping intention. The findings demonstrated that the controlling coaching behaviors lead to doping intention, and it can negatively affect athlete mental toughness. Recommendation and suggestion for its use in research pertaining the controlling coaching behaviors were discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
