Abstrakt: The article detects changes in vegetation and water bodies in the Gai River basin in Assam, India based on the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) and normalized difference water index (NDWI) and using geographic information system (GIS) and remote sensing. The study estimates the population, flood-prone areas and vegetation cover, as well as the greenness of the earth's surface or the presence of water, forest and soil resources.
