A recent study conducted by investigators from International University in Barcelona, Spain, aimed to understand the relationship between the problematic use of WhatsApp among young adolescents and parental mediation. The study examined three different parental mediation strategies (restrictive, modeling, and stimulation) and their impact on the problematic use of WhatsApp. The results showed a direct relationship between restrictive mediation and problematic use of WhatsApp, as well as a positive relationship between the number of mobile phones students have and whether parents use their mobile phone during dinner. The study provides valuable insights for promoting responsible mobile phone use and guiding parents in addressing the problematic use of WhatsApp among adolescents. [Extracted from the article] |
