A recent study conducted by researchers at Hiroshima University in Japan has identified a marine fungal isolate called Aspergillus sp. strain GAD7, which produces an extracellular polysaccharide (EPS) with anticoagulant and antioxidant properties. The EPS-AG7 was found to have a high carbohydrate and sulfate content and a molecular weight of approximately 7.34 x 103 Da. It exhibited significant anticoagulant and antioxidant activities, making it a potential candidate for therapeutic applications. The study provides valuable insights into the bioactivities, chemical composition, and conformation of this Aspergillus strain. [Extracted from the article] |
