Abstrakt: This article discusses the ecclesiological rifts and methodological possibilities surrounding the conflict in Ukraine from the perspective of scholars studying Orthodox Christianity in Serbia. The conflict in Ukraine is not only a political and territorial dispute, but also a conflict among Eastern Orthodox churches over jurisdiction and governance. The article emphasizes the importance of studying Orthodoxy ethnographically at a grassroots level to understand how parishioners are affected by the war and how they make sense of the conflict. The authors also suggest exploring the virtual Orthodox realm online to examine the interactions and arguments between Orthodox Christians from different backgrounds and generations. Overall, the article calls for a broader understanding of the ongoing conflict within a broader ecclesiological context and the development of additional methodologies to explore global Orthodox Christianity.
