A recent study conducted by researchers from KIST Medical College and Teaching Hospital in Nepal aimed to determine the prevalence of hypertensive retinopathy among hypertensive patients visiting the outpatient Department of Ophthalmology in a tertiary care center. The study found that hypertensive retinopathy was present in 43.48% of the 161 hypertensive patients surveyed, with Grade I hypertensive retinopathy being the most common. The prevalence of hypertensive retinopathy in this study was higher than in previous studies conducted in similar settings.
