A research report from Islamia University Bahawalpur in Pakistan provides new insights into the effectiveness of cephalosporins in hydrolyzing and inhibiting biofilms formed by Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The study found that cephalosporins exhibited dual capabilities of hydrolyzing and inhibiting biofilms, with first-generation cephalosporins showing the highest inhibitory activity against S. aureus. The research suggests that cephalosporins could be effective in combating infections caused by these bacteria. [Extracted from the article] |
