A study conducted at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston examined the long-term outcomes of patients with moderate or mild to moderate tricuspid regurgitation (TR) undergoing mitral valve (MV) surgical procedures with or without tricuspid valve surgical procedures (TVS). The study included 505 patients, and the results showed that concomitant TVS did not improve survival or decrease the need for reoperation. The researchers suggest that factors beyond the degree of TR should be considered in surgical decision-making. This information may be useful for individuals researching reoperation and surgical procedures. [Extracted from the article] |
