This article, titled "EP08.13: Evaluation of fetal growth charts: a comparative study in a local population," aims to assess the impact of different fetal growth charts on estimated fetal weight (EFW) and their ability to predict small or large for gestational age (SGA or LGA) fetuses in a specific population. The study reviewed 7,059 pregnant women who had ultrasound assessments at a private prenatal center. The researchers compared four reference curves and found that the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) curve provided the best fit for their population. However, this chart identified a higher proportion of fetuses as below the 3rd percentile, which may require additional monitoring. The study concludes that the choice of reference table significantly affects the classification of fetuses as SGA or LGA. [Extracted from the article] |
