Abstrakt: A study conducted at Hospital del Mar in Barcelona, Spain, analyzed the pregnancy outcomes of women with one abnormal value (OAV) during an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) or OGTT-intolerance, compared to women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and normal glucose tolerance (NGT). The study found that OAV and OGTT-intolerant women accounted for a third of pregnant women referred to the Diabetes Unit, and their rates of preterm birth, pre-eclampsia, and macrosomia were not different from NGT or GDM women. The study also found that treated OGTT-intolerant women had a greater gestational age at delivery compared to non-treated ones. [Extracted from the article]
