Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at the Broad Institute of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University has found that there are genetic correlations between arterial and venous cardiovascular conditions such as coronary artery disease (CAD), peripheral artery disease (PAD), and venous thromboembolism (VTE). The study aimed to identify the epidemiological and causal genetic relationships between metabolites and these conditions. The researchers used metabolomic data from over 95,000 individuals and found that certain metabolites were associated with CAD, PAD, and VTE. The study suggests that specific lipoprotein species could be potential pharmacological targets for both arterial and venous conditions. [Extracted from the article]
