A recent study conducted by researchers at Sao Paulo State University (UNESP) in Brazil investigated serum extracellular vesicles (EVs) in dogs with mammary tumors. The study aimed to understand the size, shape, and concentration of these EVs and their association with tumor malignancy. The researchers found that there were no significant differences in EV concentrations among the different groups of dogs, but they identified several proteins that showed varied abundance across the groups. The study suggests that keratin 18 and protocadherin 17 could potentially serve as biomarkers for diagnosing canine mammary neoplasia in the future. [Extracted from the article] |
