A study conducted by the University of Helsinki in Finland explored the effects of relative humidity (RH) and algae-based biostimulants on the fruit set, yield, fruit weight, and number of drupelets per fruit of Arctic bramble. The researchers found that fruit set and yield were influenced by RH, with the highest results observed at 40% RH for one cultivar and 60% RH for another, while high RH conditions reduced fruit set and yield by nearly 50%. Additionally, certain algae-based biostimulants increased fruit weight by up to 18%, but did not affect total yield. The study suggests that controlling RH in greenhouse cultivation and using algae-based biostimulants may benefit Arctic bramble production. [Extracted from the article] |
