Abstrakt: In an effort to assess the bioactive potential as a cure for ailments and a source of alternative medicine, the leaves of Dalbergia sissoo was chemically characterized. Dalbergia sissoo leaves have been collected fresh, authenticated for taxonomic purposes, sun-dried for a week and then powdered for use in proximate analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. Proximate analysis, of determining the carbon content of the sample, is used to evaluate the quality of medicinal plants. The functional groups of a sample can be determined by measuring its Fourier transform infrared spectrum. Thermogravimetric analysis examines how plant matter degrades and how stable it is under heat. According to the study's proximate analysis, the amounts of moisture, volatile matter, ash and fixed carbon were 4.25, 70.25, 15.84 and 9.91 percent. There were the strong bonds between C-H, C-H, C=C, N-O, S=O, C-O, S=O and C-Br in the plant material according to the results of FTIR. In addition, TGA findings show that the most rapid weight loss occurred at the temperature of 487.51°C. According to the findings of this stud, the leaves of the selected plant have been identified as a powerful medicinal plant with key bioactive constituents that are valuable in human medicine. This endeavour, completed for the benefit of humanity, supported previous practices regarding the nutritional and therapeutic properties of Dalbergia sissoo. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
