The article investigates the presence of Janthinobacterium lividum in amphibians across Wisconsin and its potential role in combating the parasitic chytrid fungus Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd). Topics discussed include the methodology for detecting Jliv using conventional polymerase chain reaction, the variation in detection rates across different amphibian species and habitats, and the comparison of these findings with other studies on amphibian populations in various regions. |
