poetry london14 Tarn MacArthur Ben Lawers Perthshire When finally, against the sharp grain of luck that saw the cancer spread from breast to gland to lung to brain like wildflowers propagated freely across that inner- landscape we hope never to face, and the good news came to where we found ourselves on the shores of Loch Tay, climbing and naming each scarce specimen clinging to life in near arctic climes: mountain sandwort, bristle sedge, woolly willow, snow pearlwort, rock lady’s mantle and alpine fleabane… We started to believe in beauty again.
