A recent report from the Department of Internal Medicine in Greenland has examined the referral pattern of pediatric patients from Greenland to the National University Hospital, Rigshospitalet, in Denmark. The study found that over a five-year period, a total of 310 unique patients were referred, resulting in an average of 62 annual referrals. The most common subspecialties for referrals were ophthalmology, oto-rhino-laryngology, and cardiovascular diseases. The study also noted a shift towards an increasing proportion of outpatient treatments at Rigshospitalet. This research provides valuable insights into the healthcare services provided to Greenlandic pediatric patients in Denmark. [Extracted from the article] |
