The article discusses the rise in popularity of large-scale "main melody" dance dramas in China over the past five years. These dance dramas, which focus on national history and traditional culture, have attracted large audiences beyond traditional dance enthusiasts by combining innovative creative approaches with new promotion strategies. The article specifically examines the dance drama "Only This Green," which premiered in 2021 and exemplifies this trend. It explores the role of new narrative techniques and media integration in promoting the popularity of Chinese dance dramas. The article also discusses the use of lyrical narrative structure, a youthful narrative strategy, and dynamic narrative space in these dance dramas. It highlights the mutual learning between art and media in creation and promotion, as well as the development of adjacent consumer products to increase the circulation and vitality of dance.
