A recent study conducted at the Universidade Federal de Sao Paulo in Brazil explored the relationship between patients' descriptions of rectal effluents and the quality of colonoscopy preparation. The study included 270 patients and found that reports of dark and thick, dark orange, or brown and thick effluents were associated with a higher likelihood of inadequate preparation. The researchers concluded that these descriptions can help predict the quality of colonoscopy preparation. This information may be useful for healthcare professionals in improving the effectiveness of colonoscopy procedures. [Extracted from the article] |
