A new report discusses research findings on post-operative pain management after hip or femur orthopedic surgeries. The study focused on the efficacy of continuous lumbar plexus blockade (LPB) in managing post-operative pain. The researchers conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of peer-reviewed articles and found that LPB provided superior pain relief compared to conventional pain management approaches. LPB also reduced opioid consumption, decreased adverse effects, and enhanced functional recovery. Overall, the study concluded that LPB is an effective method for pain management after orthopedic surgery. [Extracted from the article] |
