Abstrakt: The increase in the daily number of COVID-19 deaths is a measure of how Indonesia's health condition is in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. The increase in the daily death numbers cannot be separated from the influence of the daily number of COVID-19 infections and the number of daily vaccination recipients. In the movement of the COVID-19, there are 2 important indicators, namely the infection and vaccination indicators. These two indicators are used to measure the impact to death numbers from health point of view. Meanwhile, from an economic point of view, this death number is influenced by gold price indicator where it is used to represents the purchasing power capacity among people in smoothing consumption during the covid pandemic. This study focuses on the effect of the economy and health indicators on the increase in the daily COVID-19 death numbers from 1 September 2021 to 31 May 2022. The main findings indicate that health variables – infection and vaccination (dose 1,2,3) affect significantly the death numbers with positive and negative sign, respectively. In addition, the economy variable – gold price significantly and negatively affects the death numbers. This study concludes that health and economy factors affect the death numbers in Indonesia during COVID-19 pandemic. This study is significance to show that during the pandemic, the mobility restriction and strengthened immunity are on track policy given that infection and vaccination significantly affects covid death numbers. Meanwhile, gold price increase indicates people need more revenue to survive their life during the pandemic. Finally, given that economy and health are of importance factors, the future research needs to analyze the optimal level where health and economy issues in their balance position in relation with death numbers. This balance would provide a best combination of policy response so that there is no trade-off between health and economy issues in mitigating and preventing the death numbers during pandemic.
